Window security
Effective burglary protection for windows and patio doors
Why windows should be secured
After front doors, windows and French windows are among the most popular points of entry for burglars. Burglars are often given too easy a time: as a rule, around 90 % of all windows can be opened from outside in about 2 seconds, almost silently. Window security also protects your children from dreaded falls from windows.
Additional locks reinforce the existing window hardware. They should suit the installation situation, on both the handle side and the hinge side. The models on this page are from ABUS.
Bar locks
The FOS 550 bar lock secures windows as well as patio and balcony doors on the closing side at two additional locking points. The patented locking gives it exceptionally high resistance to pressure and levering attacks from outside. Thanks to its slim design, it fits a great many windows. We adapt the locking bars to the required dimensions.
Window handle locks
A lockable window handle with a solid steel bolt as additional security achieves a pressure resistance of over 1 tonne with ABUS's typical interlocking bolt. The FO 500 version also has a hardened restrictor bar, so windows and French windows are well protected even when tilted.
Additional window locks
If you are looking for security without a window handle, additional window locks are the right choice. Robust housings, a solid construction and patented locking protect windows, patio and balcony doors, as well as lift-and-slide doors. The FTS 99 even locks automatically when you close the window.
Double-sash locks
Two birds with one stone: you secure double-sash windows easily and quickly with the purpose-built DFS 95. Its double swing bolt engages both sashes at the same time, achieving very high resistance.
Window combination locks
You open and close the very sturdy FTS 106 additional window lock with a number combination, without any key. It is suitable for windows, patio and balcony doors.
Lockable window handles
You simply replace the existing window handle. Then windows and French windows cannot be opened or tilted without permission, even if someone has smashed or cut the pane. At the same time, the lockable handle is an effective child safety lock.

Hinge-side locks
With the FAS 97 and FAS 101 hinge-side locks, windows, patio and balcony doors are also protected on the hinge side against break-in techniques such as levering them out. The FAS 97 locks automatically when you close the window.
Telescopic bar
The Tele-Z telescopic bar secures your window visibly across its full width. You can quickly fit it yourself where other products cannot technically be installed.
Basement windows
Basement windows and light wells are often overlooked when securing a home, yet they are popular points of entry. We advise you on the options for your house. In addition to mechanical security, security films can give the glass extra protection; they do not secure the frame or the hardware.
