Locks
The right lock for every need: from suitcases to aircraft! Locking systems, mechanical and electronic locking systems and much more.
Mortise locks
Mortise locks are the most basic security measure on any door: they hold the mechanical, electronic or mechatronic cylinder.
They come in many versions, with a standard latch, a key-retractable latch, a roller latch or no latch at all, with reinforced forends and different forend shapes. Which lock suits your door is best clarified in a personal conversation.
Multipoint locks
An ordinary mortise lock secures the door at one point, roughly in the middle. A multipoint lock locks at several points, on most models at three or five (three-point or five-point locking).
That gives a considerably higher level of protection and better keeps the door from warping, especially with tubular frame doors.
We supply and install multipoint locks from all well-known manufacturers, in different versions and with different certifications:
- Three-point, five-point and six-point locking
- With or without additional top/bottom locking
- With or without escape certification to EN 179 or EN 1125
- With all escape door functions (B, C, D, E …)
- With or without self-locking
- With or without motor drive (A-opener and others)
- With or without handle control (“electrically engageable”)
- With or without monitoring (latch, bolt and follower monitoring)

Panic locks (EN 1125) and escape door locks (EN 179)
Panic locks are a special type of mortise lock: from the outside you lock them as normal; from the inside they can be opened at any time, even when locked.
The standards EN 179 (emergency exit devices, where no panic is to be expected) and EN 1125 (panic exit devices, above all in commercial and public buildings) apply to such doors. As an “Authorised Partner – Escape Door Systems for Europe. EN 179 and EN 1125” of G-U (BKS), we advise you on this. More under emergency & panic doors.
Door guards / exit controllers
Door guards monitor escape doors: if an exit is opened to escape or without authorisation, they raise the alarm acoustically or via an alarm system or a control centre.
The door guard sits below the door handle or the panic bar. With an optional reed contact, it also monitors windows or double-leaf doors. Authorised people pass through using a cylinder without triggering the alarm. Our exit controllers are tested to EN 179 and EN 1125; you get the device, accessories and standard-compliant installation from us, all from a single source.
Furniture locks
These include surface-mounted locks, inset locks, furniture mortise locks, espagnolette and rotating rod locks, and push-button cylinder locks. Typical places of use are filing and pharmacy cabinets, office cabinets and mobile pedestals.
Padlocks
Padlocks come in many types, shapes, sizes and colours – from the combination lock for a locker or bike to the padlock you integrate into your existing master-key system. Then you lock the garden gate, front door and tool shed with the same key. By the way, this also works with electronic locking systems such as AirKey.
Where force is to be expected, such as in a cellar compartment, we use padlocks with shackle protection and a specially hardened shackle. They are very hard to cut open.
Grille and tubular frame locks
The range extends from classic bolt locks in rim and mortise form and various sizes to swing and sliding bolts. Depending on the version, they are available with an integrated electric strike or special add-ons.
Garage locks
Garage locks are fitted to garage and up-and-over doors. Usually rods lock the door; they are hooked into loops or screwed in place. That way a centrally mounted lock locks the whole door. Because more and more doors are operated electrically, they have become less common. We are happy to repair or replace existing garage locks for you – just give us a call.
Old and special locks
The variety of past and present lock technology is too great to list. Our stock includes thousands of locks, among them very old ones no longer in production and special locks such as authority locks with two cylinder holes.
If you are looking for an old or special lock, or yours needs a repair, we can help. If anyone can do it, we can.
