Master-key systems

One key, clearly defined access

A master-key system arranges doors and keys in a hierarchy. A key then locks only one door, several areas or – depending on how the system is structured – everything below it.

Master-key systems are just as suitable for businesses as for private households. Think of your second home or your holiday house: your key locks everything, while your caretaker only opens the garden gate to clear the snow.

Types of system

• Keyed-alike systems (GSP, CS) Several cylinders lock with the same key.
• Central locking systems (ZS) Each key locks its own door and shared doors such as the main entrance or the cellar.
• Master-key systems (HS) Each key locks its own door; the master key locks all of them.
• Central master-key systems (ZHS, Z/HS) The combination of a central locking system and a master-key system.
• Grand-master-key systems (GHS, G/HS) Several levels with group keys, above them a grand master key.
